Unlock the True Potential of B2B Creators: What You're Missing

+ Sharing a little bit straight from my heart

Hello and welcome to the 107th edition of Fresh Salmon.

I'm glad to have you here, and if you wish to check out past newsletters, please click here.

Let me begin today's edition by sharing a little bit straight from my heart.

It took me a solid 8 years, a full blown career as a Software Engineer to discover what I really wanted to do.

I have blamed myself a lot of times for being a late bloomer and wasting so much time not doing what I do now.

"Wasting..8 years" is a long time...isn't it?

But I have come to the terms that it wasn't that opportunities weren't there.

I just wasn't in the right mindset to pursue and call shots on things that mattered to me.

You know that state of void…

....Where you just don't know what you are doing, and everything is just surface level.

Your work is not touching your soul.

Sometimes that keeps you away from realizing what matters to you. That's what happened to me during my career as a Software Engineer.

Don't get me wrong, I learned a lot, I met with some extremely talented and driven people, I even had my code for FIOS TV when it was launched in 2008.

But you know, nothing felt satisfying.

Nothing really made me take BIG bets on myself.

Until one day.....it came all together.

For the first time, I was ready to bet on myself.

I quit my managerial job at a fortune 50 tech company, and decided to move to a country where I didn't even speak the language (Und hallo deutschland 🇩🇪).

After that all I did was...just bet more on myself.

Now in retrospect, I'm more forgiving of myself. I've realized that our life experiences and our environments are constantly shaping our mindset and our outlook.

It is, therefore, very important once you start pushing yourself out of your comfort zone you are kind of reshaping your trajectory of life. It feels uncomfortable and satisfactory at the same time.

So, this is what I will tell you....

Don't settle.

There is no wrong or right timing.

Keep betting on yourself.

Trust your inner voice and go for it!

I believe in “You”.

Now back to business.

Unlock the True Potential of B2B Creators: What You're Missing

You have probably found yourself scrolling through LinkedIn with a cup of coffee in hand, and you've come across the umpteenth post that heralds the emergence of the B2B Creators as a marketing Messiah.

Yeah, me too. Every other day, it's "Utilize B2B Creators!"

And sure, it's a good thing.

But, we've got a problem. . . .

Just saying "please tag B2B Creators" is like asking for a drink and expecting a vintage wine when you're standing in a dive bar.

Diving into the world of B2B Creators without recognizing the vast ocean of differences between them is like expecting a goldfish to climb a tree.

You wouldn't mix up a Martech B2B Creator with an Industrial Manufacturing B2B Creator unless you fancy explaining to your boss why your latest campaign is as effective as wearing socks in the pool.

Remember, not all heroes wear capes, and not all creators wield the same power across platforms. That Industrial Manufacturing influencer might not be the king of LinkedIn, but give them a YouTube channel, and they're suddenly the Beyoncé of their niche.

And here's where it gets juicy: niches and industries aren't just important; they're your bread and butter, your secret sauce, the peanut butter to your jelly.

Choosing the right B2B Creator without considering their domain is a waste of time.

But wait, there's more!

Don't get dazzled by the shiny object syndrome. A creator's worth isn't measured by their LinkedIn followers or TikTok views.

Peek behind the curtain and see where they truly shine.

For example - Newsletters are the hidden treasure of the influencer world. Intimate, engaging, and powerful, they're like the handwritten love letters in the age of limited attention.

And let's not forget, a YouTube channel with a cozy audience of 2,000 subscribers can pack a punch way above its weight class compared to 15,000 LinkedIn followers.

So, before you jump on the B2B Creator bandwagon, remember, it's not just about where they are; it's about where they resonate.

Don't be the person who brings a knife to a gunfight.

In the world of B2B marketing, the right creator can be your Excalibur, but only if you know where to look.
