The Future Isn’t Human vs. AI. It’s You + 1,000 AI Co-Workers.
Sam Altman dropped a blog post a few weeks ago that, in typical Altman fashion, sounds subtle until it slaps.
It’s titled “Three Observations.”
But what it really is… is a quiet announcement:
The next 12–24 months are going to break your mental model.
Here’s what he’s seeing (and building):
AI is getting cheaper 10x every 12 months
AI is getting smarter faster than most people realize
AI is about to be everywhere, baked into every process, product, and person
Let’s not sugarcoat this:
B2B is about to get turned inside out.
And the ones who sleep on this shift? They’re toast.
AI Intelligence Is Scaling Like Crazy
Altman lays out a wild equation:
Intelligence scales logarithmically with resources (compute, data, inference)
But costs are dropping exponentially
Translation?
Moore’s Law: Cost halves every 18 months.
AI’s Curve: Cost drops 10x every 12 months.
This isn’t evolution.
It’s economic collapse — in a good way (unless your business depends on charging for knowledge).
By 2035, one person will have the intellectual capacity of the entire 2025 workforce.
Read that again.

Your Next Competitor Has 1,000 AI Agents
Let’s talk practical B2B impact.
That AI sales assistant? Now it's an SDR team with emotional intelligence and perfect memory.
That AI copywriter? It doesn’t miss deadlines. Or context. Or lunch.
That AI product manager? It runs sprints, reads docs, logs bugs, and knows what your users really want.
And they all work 24/7, across time zones, in parallel, with zero ego or payroll.
The cost of intelligence is trending toward zero.
The cost of willpower, taste, and vision is going up.
Because if everyone has “unlimited genius,”
the differentiator becomes who knows what to do with it.
The First Domino to Fall: Software Engineering
Dev shops, SaaS tool factories, custom dashboards, integrations — watch this space.
Altman’s bet (and OpenAI’s roadmap) points here first:
Code generation becomes AI-native
Bugs + unit tests handled automatically
Entire microservices spun up from prompts
Infra optimization done in real-time
If your business is built on “engineer hours,” the margin pressure is coming — fast.
Expect less headcount, fewer bootcamps, and more AI copilots per founder.
And this is just the starting point.

The B2B Wildcard: Who Adapts First?
AI is not distributed equally — and neither will the benefits be.
Companies who “get it” will:
Build AI-native workflows
Treat AI like infrastructure, not software
Integrate AI agents across GTM, ops, and R&D
Flatten org structures (and speed them up)
Play with compute like it’s capital
Companies who don’t?
❌ Will treat AI as a vendor, not a cofounder
❌ Will delay integration due to “procurement”
❌ Will fear breaking compliance before exploring upside
❌ Will still be optimizing email open rates while their competitors build agent-led funnels that close on their own
You think the market’s competitive now?
Wait until your competitor has the same headcount… but 40 AI agents.
What Gets Pricier in a World of Free Intelligence?
Altman dropped this spicy take:
“Most goods will get cheaper. But luxury goods, services, and land will get more expensive.”
In other words — the world splits.
Abundant compute drives down cost of knowledge, creation, and execution
Scarce real-world assets (attention, taste, belief, status) become the new currency
In B2B terms:
The cost of doing anything will drop
But the cost of being known for something will skyrocket
Your brand, your voice, your positioning — those become your moat.
Because your competitor can copy your code, your funnel, your pricing — but not your narrative.
Scary Thought: You May Be Overestimating the “Later”
Altman says daily life won’t feel very different at first.
But B2B folks, be warned — GPT-5, GPT-6, GPT-n aren’t 10 years away.
They're ~18 months away. Maybe less.
And when the dam breaks, it won’t look like some sci-fi jump.
It’ll look like this:
A junior team member using 100x leverage overnight
A solo founder pulling off what used to take 30 people
A competitor building 10 new products in the time it takes you to ship one
And it’ll be quiet.
No press release.
Just momentum — compounding in the background — until it’s too late to catch up.
Adapt Like Your Business Depends On It (Because It Does)
B2B is getting rewired.
The only question is whether you’ll be part of the blueprint.
Here’s your play:
Shift from “AI tool” to “AI workforce”
Optimize for human judgment, not human labor
Build internal AI literacy as a strategic weapon
Turn curiosity into experimentation — today
Make your story louder, faster, and more defensible
Because when everyone has access to “unlimited genius”...
the smartest play is to act like it.
